Broccoli, Bacon & Cheddar Quiche

Prep: 30 minutes

Cook time: 45 minutes

Cool time: 5 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Pillsbury pie crust
  • 2 cups of cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion
  • 1 cup of heavy whipping cream
  • 1.5 cups of broccoli
  • 5 eggs
  • 10 strips of thick cut bacon
  • 3 teaspoons paprika

Directions:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Place bacon in frying pan. Medium-high heat. Cook to preference.
  • Place bacon on cutting board. Let cool.
  • Remove all but 2 tablespoons of grease from frying pan.
  • Chop onion into thick 1″ slices and place on frying pan. Medium heat. Cook until golden.
  • Place onion in a large mixing bowl.
  • Chop up cooled bacon into thick strips, place in the large mixing bowl.
  • In a smaller mixing bowl, mix heavy whipping cream, cheese, eggs and paprika.
  • Once mixed, pour your small mixing bowl contents into your large mixing bowl and lightly mix everything together.
  • Lightly grease a glass pie dish. If you don’t have a glass pie dish, use a pie tin, but make sure to grease it a little extra.
  • Place your pillsbury pie crust over/on to the pie dish or pie tin.
  • Pour large mixing bowl contents into pie dish, feel free to lightly move ingredients around if you want a more equal spread.
  • Place pie dish into the oven for 45 minutes or until golden brown on top. (Tip: do the jiggle test).
